THE STUDIO
Johny Dar is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves between painting, sculpture, fashion, sound, and the spaces that hold them. Since 1999, the studio has been based in Berlin, with a permanent presence in Dubai since 2022.
The work follows a single principle — the line already exists. The artist's job is to stay still enough to see it. That principle threads through hand-painted gold-leaf canvases, original orchestral compositions, garments worn on red carpets and in concerts, and a permanent gallery and wellness experience in Dubai.
Exhibitions have been mounted at the Saatchi Gallery (London), Centre Pompidou (Paris), and dedicated showings in Berlin, Dubai, and New York. Collaborations include Emma Watson on the Dream Horse Project, the Lady Gaga choir wardrobe, and the original soundtrack Liquid Gold, available now on 180g vinyl.
